Library Media Center

The Library Media Center (LMC) is located in the Father John J. Farrington Building across from the high school. The Library Media Center is fully automated with 17 computer stations with Internet and printer access. With a collection of over 7,000 volumes, 1,000 reference materials, and 400 videos/DVDs, the LMC provides a diverse collection of materials for student research needs and personal interest.  The Library Media Center is to be used for educational purposes only and respect for others is to be strictly adhered to.

Guidelines for Use:

Hours:  Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

  • Students may use the LMC independently before school, during lunch periods, and after school
  • Students will need a pass to visit the LMC if not accompanying a class
  • The student ID card serves a their library card and must be present in order to check out materials
  • Internet use is allowed following the guidelines of the Computer Network Acceptable Use Policy
  • Books and periodicals may be checked out for two weeks
  • Students must pay for lost or damaged library materials or equipment
  • Students must log on using assigned user names and passwords in order to use these computers.

Database Access:

The Library Media Center maintains a number of databases that students can access on and off campus. All library materials are listed on Athena, an online catalog (look for the purple icon on the desktop). For instructions on how to use Athena, please ask the librarian.

Our school subscribes to SIRS ProQuest databases “Targeted Resources for Research and Learning”, excellent for doing research, especially for Social Studies.  They are available online, at school as well as home.

  5. You are now on the ProQuest site and you can search for articles by subjects, name, and/or specific publication.
  • Literature Resource Center: 
    Database of literary criticism, author and other background information on various literary works accessible with a Maryland Public Library card.

Instructions for using Literature Resource Center:

  3. You must then type in a valid Eastern Shore Library card number
  4. Click “Proceed”
  5. Searches can be done by Author, Title, or Keyword
